Writer's picture: Chandler MariottChandler Mariott

1989 "Untitled" drawing by Gustavo Ojeda, born Havana, Cuba. Smithsonian American Art Museum, Gift of Emilio Sanchez

I have found a fascination through the theme and motto of Peace and the Peace movement that has grown and continues to live on to this day. I try to find these movements of peace and symbolisms of peace in my everyday, especially through art forms and practices. Based on my location many artist have found to express their internal mindsets and make them into an external form of expression.

Gregorio Marzan, born Vega Baja, Puerto Rico 1906 Smithsonian American Art Museum, Gift of Chuck and Jan Rosenak and museum purchase through the Luisita L. and Franz H. Denghausen Endowment

The shared belief of Peace and expression of Love is found through the very existence of peace art, replication with modification, and the recycling works of peace in order to maintain the peace movement.
